We live in deeply insecure and twisted societies. We are divided,afraid and broken. Some of us are still trying to keep spirits and heads up but there are times when an ordinary person simply gives up on trying to defeat the shaped world of poles and extremism of any kind.
The reality of being an individual nowadays brings so much pain because if you want to survive, you must adjust, even if that means that you have to adjust your own sanity to the insane world around you, even if that means that you dress your common sense into craziness to be accepted and not cursed. By the rest. By majority.
These lines of difference are often visible when it comes to the matter of religion. Whatever we do or however we live, the God we believe in or the One we deny Him will determine our whole life and our cohabitation with others. It is not easy to be a lone wolf when you need a pack to defend you and to hunt with you. The strength of the wolf is a pack and the strength of the pack is one single wolf. Person without community is nothing. Wanker. Weirdo. Potential psychopath or well stylized sociopath, but nothing normal in the eyes of the pack. The pack reject wounded and broken, they will slow down the progress, they will make damage. They will endanger the whole pack and its final goal. Humans aren’t so far away from wolves when it comes to the survival. Sometimes, they are worse than any beast. Because they choose to be evil for a pleasure.
In the age of bipolar social disturbances, when the political and security pressure is beyond impossible, the mankind is struggling to overcome ancient taboos but at the end of the day, than ancient taboo is the worst problem ever and it becomes the secret monster of the community. In spite of growing scientific sense, we are still stuck in the fear from supernatural and I am wondering how powerful religions are not able to make people safe in God’s comfort zone rather than to make them afraid from the shadows of the unknown evil spirit.
We against them. People and supernatural entities. God and Devil. Life and Death. Love and Hatred. Defined against Undefined. Known vs Unknown. The full circle of illusions that we can control something but we are able only to control dividing. At the moment when homo sapiens choose where he belongs, the silent war is beginning. Being out of partitions is a sign of communal betrayal. The simplest way to show that you are weak and not loyal, that you should be eaten for not choosing the right side, for not choosing the side at all.
So, if you are not on the side of beloved God, you automatically belong to the side of One Whose Name Cannot Be Spoken. Devil. Satan. The King James Holy Bible claims:”Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7) If you don’t submit to God, you will be submitted to Devil. There is nothing in between according to believers. You are too weak to resist the Devil by yourself even if you were enough strong to resist the God. The never ending battle between religious and non-religious persons, old as the whole civilization.
Sadly, but God and Satan are fighting each others through the people. If I want to be absolutely objective, I have to admit that light has a war against the darkness over the back of human destinies. Love always wins but there is so much hatred down the road that we usually mistaken it for religious reasons rather than for simply psychological. It is easier to accept the master work of Devil with his demons than the failure of broken humanity. People can live with demons outside of their inner world, but they cant accept them if they are part of their deepest core. Madness is the worst curse and it is a way worse to admit it than to accuse demons for everything. Deception. The way out of hell.
“Neither give place to the devil”
The exorcism. Very mystic, dark and dangerous. Just the term by itself promises you the journey into the cave of forgotten fears. This is a special religious based practice of evicting the spiritual or supernatural entities from a person for who is believed that suffers from evil possession. The act of exorcism could be in different form, depending of the skills and the approach of exorcist but usually it is generated from the typical activities what includes forcing the demon to swear on oath, performing the chosen ritual in the name of the highest God’s power or to challenge to demonic force to accept the light and move out. This is very important element of all religions and it hasn’t been so popular in public until the media and movie industry haven’t given the attention to it and turn it into spectacle.
Father Jose Antonio Fortea is one of the first Spanish and European real life exorcists. By vocation, he is a parish priest and writer. His famous book ” Interview with an Exorcist” was one of the first of such a kind of literature because it has offered the possibility to readers to take a look into the real stories about the demonic possessions and the game between God and Devil. His writing and speeches about the demonic possessions and the Satan work among people awakened the other priests to get into the field and to dig a bit. The boom of the interests for exorcism, which started to be accepted through that name by the churches, was in the other half of the 20th century. This is exactly what Father Jose states:“Back when I first became involved in this particular field, no one knew about it. When you spoke about it, no one really understood the subject. In the United States, for example, there were only four exorcists. The Church was only beginning to name exorcists. There was an unpublished book in Spain at the time, but none other on the subject. However, things changed dramatically over the next ten years, and people were starting to complain how there was just no help for people. In the U.S. there were only four exorcists, in Italy about three, in Spain there were none and in France perhaps one. In Germany there was no one.” He is the one who successfully explains how he can knows who is possessed by evil forces and who is mentally ill:”Many people think that the people who call in believing they are possessed are crazy. That is not true. Most people who call are coming to the priest for advice and counseling for problems they’ve had. Most are completely normal people. The rest of the people, maybe 25 or 30 percent, doubt that it is demonic. It’s a real fear. Something strange has happened to them, but they are not crazy.They need to come to my parish, and I interview them. I determine whether they are mentally healthy, and I pray for them regardless. When I see their reaction to prayer, that is how I determine if it is demonic in nature. Only praying can give you an answer.”
This is the most sensitive ingredient of this issue. It is abstract as long as the level of madness could be explained by madness but when it comes to religious feelings, madness could be only explained by bad spirit and devil’s master work. It is more than exciting to follow how people rather adopt the unlimited religious possibilities than limited knowledge about the secrets of our mind and soul. This priest claims that only 1% of people are really possessed and that all others are suffering from the serious or more serious mental diseases. Who makes an assessment of that? Doctors could be deceived, as he believes, by demons if it is up to evil spirit but priests can check all by basic prayers.
The psychologists and psychiatrists are questioning the exorcism from their own prospective. One of them is Professor Trethowan,Department of Psychiatry, The University of Birmingham who comes with the following:”There are several reasons why the medical profession in general, and psychiatrists in particular, should continue to interest themselves in exorcism. While many might insist that the time is long past for such nonsense, at least in a seemingly civilised society such as we might like to believe our own to be, the matter still crops up, occasionally with disastrous consequences. The recent occurrence of a particularly tragic case in Ossett, near Wakefield, is an excellent but frightening example of what can happen when matters get out of hand. Here a man, said to be comparatively mentally normal, was alleged to have been brought by a process of exorcism to a state of mind wherein he was led to murder his wife in a particularly sanguinary manner. To be fair to his exorcists they, too, must have been appalled by this untoward result.” He is warning about the importance of qualified experts who will deal with mentally ill person and reply on that in the right way:“More problematic, possibly, are other not necessarily psychotic but severely neurotic patients who exhibit hysterical and other symptoms and behaviour which resembles that occurring in so-called possession states, both in medieval and more modem times. If such symptoms and behaviour are not recognized for what they really are, ie, due to mental abnormality, the sufferers may not only fall into wrong hands but be subjected to inappropriate treatment, including exorcism. The misguided application of such procedures may amount to frank mismanagement and can have dire results. Thirdly, because there is no doubt that the roots of modern psycho-pathology are to be found in medieval demonology and in the ideas contained in the literature of the period, there should be awareness that these ideas are not yet wholly irrelevant.”
No matter how our society is progressive, our believes are still on the backward level, especially when it comes to the diseases of the soul. It is still more acceptable for the community that someone is under demonic possession than under the strike of mental disease. In other words, for vast majority of people is better to explain that their beloved one is possessed by evil spirit than poisoned by unknown mental snakes. Religions will find a cure which psychiatry will never offer to mass.
The Christianity, especially the Catholic Christianity is leading the exorcism in the name of Jesus Christ and it is usually formed in Major Exorcism and covered by Section 11 of the Rituale Romanium. The skilled consecrated priest recites prayers, involving Jesus Christ, The Church Triumphant and Archangel Michael and helping it by use of icons and sacraments.
Islamic exorcism has a special name – ruqya. It is a rite used against the damage caused by shirk or black magic.The medicine of the Prophet – Al-Tibb al-Nabawi is welcomed by Islamic theologians who practices ruqya but they also combines that with the Throne Verse, the most important verse in the Holy Qur’an about the glorious power of God, Allah (SWT). The person possessed by evil jinn is treated while is lying down, being touched by hands of the ruqya doer and being overwhelmed by verses from the Holy Qur’an, forced to drink holy water from Zamzan Well, located within the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia and use non alcohol based perfumes. Prophet Mohammad (savs) had always educated his followers to read and learn the last three suras from the Holy Book and to defend themselves from jinns: Surat al-Ikhlas (The Fidelity), Surat al-Falaq (The Dawn) and Surat al-Nas (Mankind). In some orthodox christian lands, the believers and followers of Jesus Christ believe that only imam has an ability to remove black magic from the person and many people are visiting and consulting the imam rather than a priest when it comes to the shirk.
The Jewish exorcism ritual is performed by a rabbi who is knowledgeable of Kabbalah. The point here is not to save only possessed person but also a possessor through the healing. The group of ten males makes the circle around the possessed individual and recites The Psalm 91 and after three times, the rabbi blows a shofar – ram’s horn in a certain way so he can open the channel for communication with the bad spirit and find a way to remove it.
The different religions and the different roads to the unknown darkness. The evil spirits have been always the reason of religions to preach and to convince but they forget only one thing: the depth of human inner universe is such that it can fool all demons of the world and the strongest among them, Devil himself. The madness can be performed so well that all you can do about it is to pray God to send you demons to deal with because the humans are worse.
The society is very hypocritical. Religion is a way of life but accepting others with their good and bad attributes and problems is not possible so it is always covered by mystic explanations and claims. To call schizophrenic person, who killed the whole family because of voices in the head, as possessed with demons is easier for everyone. The religion must do something, anything because the disease is so progressed that even psychiatrist doesnt know what to say but to let society find a relief into the religion.No, people cant be so cruel unless they are directed by evil forces. How pity and naive ! People are very evil if they feed bad wolf for years. Then, when the bad wolf is enough strong, he will be out of his cave to hunt and haunt free. Finding excuses in the modern advanced world for soul’s diseases is the same as searching for the aliens in the backyard. Pathetic and irresponsible. This world must deal with the darkness of our inner selves without trying to hide taboos of it behind the role of demons.
The demons have no chances against the humans who are evil. It is just a matter of time when we will realize than none can fix us but ourselves when we accept what is and where is the problem.

FREUD AND THE TALMUD
Sigmund Freud in his 1905 work Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality, outlined a theory of psychosexual development with five distinct phases:

“Our Rabbis taught: In the case of a male child, a young one is not regarded as on a par with an old one; but a young beast is treated as an old one.23 What is meant by this? — Rab said: Pederasty with a child below nine years of age is not deemed as pederasty with a child above that. Samuel said: Pederasty with a child below three years is not treated as with a child above that”
FREUD ON SUPERIOR JEWS
“Joseph Wortis based on an interview with Freud in 1935: Freud commented that he viewed gentiles as prone to “ruthless egoism,” whereas Jews had a superior family and intellectual life. Wortis then asked Freud if he viewed Jews as a superior people. Freud replied:

The Culture of Critique
Freud thought Gentiles were prone to “ruthless egoism” but simultaneously declared that the self-described “Chosen Ones” are “superior”? It seems he must have been projecting his own tribe’s worst characteristics onto the Gentiles, and extrapolating from there. Also, many of Freud’s own patients were Jewish, so most of his “scientific” conclusions were not scientific at all, but rather based on the psycho-analysis of a rather, ahem, psychologically skewed sampling — although his conclusions are no doubt valid for the majority population that dwells in Israel (and probably Manhattan and Hollywood).
The Talmud is Judaism’s holiest book (actually a collection of books). Its authority takes precedence over the JEWISH Bible in Judaism. Evidence of this may be found in the Talmud itself, Erubin 21b (Soncino edition):
“My son, be more careful in the observance of the words of the Scribes than in the words of the Torah (JEWISH Bible).”
Jewish scholar Hyam Maccoby, in Judaism on Trial, quotes Rabbi Yehiel ben Joseph:
“Further, without the Talmud, we would not be able to understand passages in the Bible…God has handed this authority to the sages and tradition is a necessity as well as scripture. The Sages also made enactments of their own…anyone who does not study the Talmud cannot understand Scripture.”
The Talmud (and not the JEWISH Scriptures) is the legal/canonical text which obligates those who follow the Jewish religion. It is from the Talmud that laws, regulations, and world views are drawn. In practice, the everyday life of the modern religious person is drawn and influenced by the Talmud.
In the late 19th century, most European Jews were a people of the book. But their book wasn’t the JEWISH Bible. It was the BABYLONIAN TALMUD. To this day, the Talmud remains Judaism’s highest moral, ethical and legal authority.
THREE YEAR OLD BRIDES
Second century Rabbi Simeon ben Yohai, one of Judaism’s very greatest rabbis and a creator of Kabbalah, sanctioned pedophilia—permitting molestation of baby girls even younger than three! He proclaimed,
“A proselyte who is under the age of three years and a day is permitted to marry a priest.” 1
Subsequent rabbis refer to ben Yohai’s endorsement of pedophilia as “halakah,” or binding Jewish law. 2
Has ben Yohai, child rape advocate, been disowned by modern Jews? Hardly. Today, in ben Yohai’s hometown of Meron, Israel, tens of thousands of orthodox and ultra-orthodox Jews gather annually for days and nights of singing and dancing in his memory.
References to pedophilia abound in the Talmud. They occupy considerable sections of Treatises Kethuboth and Yebamoth and are enthusiastically endorsed by the Talmud’s definitive legal work, Treatise Sanhedrin.
THE PHARISEES ENDORSED CHILD SEX
The rabbis of the Talmud are notorious for their legal hair-splitting, and quibbling debates. But they share rare agreement about their right to molest three year old girls. In contrast to many hotly debated issues, hardly a hint of dissent rises against the prevailing opinion (expressed in many clear passages) that pedophilia is not only normal but scriptural as well! It’s as if the rabbis have found an exalted truth whose majesty silences debate.
Because the Talmudic authorities who sanction pedophilia are so renowned, and because pedophilia as “halakah” is so explicitly emphasized, not even the translators of the Soncino edition of the Talmud (1936) dared insert a footnote suggesting the slightest criticism. They only comment: “Marriage, of course, was then at a far earlier age than now.” 3
In fact, footnote 5 to Sanhedrin 60b rejects the right of a Talmudic rabbi to disagree with ben Yohai’s endorsement of pedophilia:
“How could they [the rabbis], contrary to the opinion of R. Simeon ben Yohai, which has scriptural support, forbid the marriage of the young proselyte?” 4

OUT OF BABYLON
It was in Babylon after the exile under Nebuchadnezzar in 597 BC that Judaism’s leading sages probably began to indulge in pedophilia. Babylon was the staggeringly immoral capitol of the ancient world. For 1600 years, the world’s largest population of Jews flourished within it.
As an example of their evil, Babylonian priests said a man’s religious duty included regular sex with temple prostitutes. Bestiality was widely tolerated. So Babylonians hardly cared whether a rabbi married a three year old girl.
But with expulsion of the Jews in the 11th century AD, mostly to European lands, Gentile tolerance of Jewish pedophilia abruptly ended.
Still, a shocking contradiction lingers: If Jews want to revere the transcendent wisdom and moral guidance of the Pharisees and their Talmud, they must accept the right of their greatest ancient sages to violate children. To this hour, no synod of Judaism has repudiated their vile practice.
SEX WITH A “MINOR” IS PERMITTED
What exactly did these sages say?
The Pharisees justified child rape by explaining that a boy of nine years was not a “man”. Thus they exempted him from God’s Mosaic Law:
“You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination” (Leviticus. 18:22)
One passage in the Talmud gives permission for a woman who molested her young son to marry a high priest. It concludes,
“All agree that the connection of a boy aged nine years and a day is a real connection; whilst that of one less than eight years is not.” 5
Because a boy under 9 is sexually immature, he can’t “throw guilt” on the active offender, morally or legally. 6
Presumably, the majority of little Jewish boys get raped before they are nine by Rabbis. They get caught doing this constantly.
And so do the Zionist Roman Catholic priests
A woman could molest a young boy without questions of morality even being raised:
“…the intercourse of a small boy is not regarded as a sexual act.” 7
The JEWISH Talmud also says,
“A male aged nine years and a day who cohabits with his deceased brother’s wife acquires her (as wife).” 8
Clearly, the JEWISH Talmud teaches that a woman is permitted to marry and have sex with a nine year old boy.
SEX AT THREE & ONE DAY
In contrast to Simeon ben Yohai’s dictum that sex with a little girl is permitted under the age of three years, the general teaching of the Talmud is that the rabbi must wait until a day after her third birthday. She could be taken in marriage simply by the act of rape.
R. Joseph said: Come and hear! A maiden aged three years and a day may be acquired in marriage by coition and if her deceased husband’s brother cohabits with her, she becomes his. (Sanhedrin. 55b)
A girl who is three years of age and one day may be betrothed by cohabitation. . . .(Yeb. 57b)
A maiden aged three years and a day may be acquired in marriage by coition, and if her deceased husband’s brother cohabited with her she becomes his. (Sanhedrin. 69a, 69b, also discussed in Yebamoth. 60b)
It was taught: R. Simeon b. Yohai stated: A proselyte who is under the age of three years and one day is permitted to marry a priest, for it is said, But all the women children that have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves, and Phineas (who was priest, the footnote says) surely was with them. (Yebamoth. 60b)
[The Talmud says such three year and a day old girls are] . . . fit for cohabitation. . . But all women children, that have not known man by lying with him, it must be concluded that Scripture speaks of one who is fit for cohabitation. (Footnote to Yebamoth. 60b)
The example of Phineas, a priest, himself marrying an underage virgin of three years is considered by the Talmud as proof that such infants are “fit for cohabitation.”
The Talmud teaches that an adult woman’s molestation of a nine year old boy is “not a sexual act” and cannot “throw guilt” upon her because the little boy is not truly a “man.” 9
But they use opposite logic to sanction rape of little girls aged three years and one day: Such infants they count as “women,” sexually mature and fully responsible to comply with the requirements of marriage.
The Talmud footnotes 3 and 4 to Sanhedrin 55a clearly tell us when the rabbis considered a boy and girl sexually mature and thus ready for marriage.
“At nine years a male attains sexual matureness… The sexual matureness of woman is reached at the age of three.”
NO RIGHTS FOR CHILD VICTIMS
The Pharisees were hardly ignorant of the trauma felt by molested children. To complicate redress, the Talmud says a rape victim must wait until she was of age before there would be any possibility of restitution. She must prove that she lived and would live as a devoted Jewess, and she must protest the loss of her virginity on the very hour she comes of age.
“As soon as she was of age one hour and did not protest she cannot protest anymore.” 10
The Talmud defends these strict measures as necessary to forestall the possibility of a Gentile child bride rebelling against Judaism and spending the damages awarded to her as a heathen – an unthinkable blasphemy! But the rights of the little girl were really of no great consequence, for,
“When a grown-up man has intercourse with a little girl it is nothing, for when the girl is less than this (three years and a day) it is as if one put the finger into the eye.” The footnote says that as “tears come to the eye again and again, so does virginity come back to the little girl under three years.” 11
In most cases, the Talmud affirms the innocence of male and female victims of pedophilia. Defenders of the Talmud claim this proves the Talmud’s amazing moral advancement and benevolence toward children; they say it contrasts favorably with “primitive” societies where the child would have been stoned along with the adult perpetrator.
Actually, the rabbis, from self-protection, were intent on proving the innocence of both parties involved in pedophilia: the child, but more importantly, the pedophile. They stripped a little boy of his right to “throw guilt” on his assailant and demanded complicity in sex from a little girl. By thus providing no significant moral or legal recourse for the child, the Talmud clearly reveals whose side it is on: the raping rabbi.
Child rape was practiced in the highest circles of Judaism. This is illustrated from Yebamoth. 60b:
There was a certain town in the land of Israel the legitimacy of whose inhabitants was disputed, and Rabbi sent R. Romanos who conducted an inquiry and found in it the daughter of a proselyte who was under the age of three years and one day, and Rabbi declared her eligible to live with a priest.
The footnote says that she was “married to a priest” and the rabbi simply permitted her to live with her husband, thus upholding “halakah” as well as the dictum of Simeon ben Yohai,
“A proselyte who is under the age of three years and one day is permitted to marry a priest.” 12
These child brides were expected to submit willingly to sex. Yebamoth. 12b confirms that under eleven years and one day a little girl is not permitted to use a contraceptive but
“must carry on her marital intercourse in the usual manner.”
In Sanhedrin 76b a blessing is given to the man who marries off his children before they reach the age of puberty, with a contrasting curse on anyone who waits longer. In fact, failure to have married off one’s daughter by the time she is 12-1/2, the Talmud says, is as bad as one who “returns a lost article to a Cuthean” (Gentile) – a deed for which “the Lord will not spare him.” 13 This passage says:
“… it is meritorious to marry off one’s children whilst minors.”
The mind reels at the damage to the untold numbers of girls who were sexually abused within Judaism during the heyday of pedophilia. Such child abuse, definitely practiced in the second century, continued, at least in Babylon, for another 900 years.
A FASCINATION WITH SEX
Perusing the Talmud, one is overwhelmed with the recurrent preoccupation with sex, especially by the most eminent rabbis. Dozens of illustrations could be presented to illustrate the delight of the Pharisees to discuss sex and quibble over its minutest details.
The rabbis endorsing child sex undoubtedly practiced what they preached. Yet to this hour, their words are revered. Simeon ben Yohai is honoured by Orthodox Jews as one of the very greatest sages and spiritual lights the world has ever known. A member of the earliest “Tannaim,” rabbis most influential in creating the Talmud, he carries more authority to observant Jews than Moses.

James Augustine Aloysius Joyce (2 February 1882 – 13 January 1941) was an Irish novelist, short story writer, and poet. Joyce was born in 41 Brighton Square, Rathgar, Dublin, into a middle-class family on the way down. A brilliant student, he briefly attended the Christian Brothers-run O’Connell School before excelling at the Jesuit schools Clongowes and Belvedere, despite the chaotic family life imposed by his father’s alcoholism and unpredictable finances. He went on to attend University College Dublin.
In 1904, in his early twenties, Joyce emigrated to continental Europe with his partner (and later wife) Nora Barnacle. They lived in Trieste, Paris and Zurich. Although most of his adult life was spent abroad, Joyce’s fictional universe centres on Dublin, and is populated largely by characters who closely resemble family members, enemies and friends from his time there. Ulysses in particular is set with precision in the streets and alleyways of the city. Shortly after the publication of Ulysses, he elucidated this preoccupation somewhat, saying, “For myself, I always write about Dublin, because if I can get to the heart of Dublin I can get to the heart of all the cities of the world. In the particular is contained the universal.”

The Roman Catholic Church teaches that her priests are “Alter Christus,” which means literally “another Christ.” Because Christ is God, this is a most serious claim. One would expect to hear such a claim from the false pagan religions, but from a supposedly Christian religion? Here’s some evidence for you to consider.

In his Book of Gomorrah, Saint Peter Damian first attacks the problem of clerical moral laxity and sexual perversions from the top down beginning with members of the Catholic hierarchy, that is, bishops and religious superiors who turn a blind eye to the moral depravity within the ranks of clerics and monks under their rule.
When he speaks of “do-nothing” superiors, the reader can almost feel the earth shake under him:
Listen, you do-nothing superiors of clerics and priests. Listen, and even though you feel sure of yourselves, tremble at the thought that you are partners in the guilt of others; those, I mean, who wink at the sins of their subjects that need correction and who by ill-considered silence allow them license to sin. Listen, I say, and be shrewd enough to understand that all of you alike are deserving of death, that is, not only those who do such things, but also they who approve those who practice them.
Having launched that thunderbolt, Damian then attacks, with even more vehemence, those reprobate bishops and religious superiors who themselves are guilty of heinous sodomitic acts and who prostitute their own spiritual sons – seminarians, priests and monks under their care.
“In fact, this vice cannot in any way be compared to any others, because its enormity supersedes them all. Indeed, this vice causes the death of bodies and the destruction of souls. It pollutes the flesh, extinguishes the light of reason, and expels the Holy Spirit from His temple in the heart of man, introducing in His stead the Devil who is the instigator of lust.
“It steers the soul into error, banishes all truth from the deceived soul, sets traps for those who fall into it, and then caps the well to prevent those who fall in from getting out. It opens the gates of Hell and closes the doors of Heaven to them, turns a former citizen of the heavenly Jerusalem into an heir of the infernal Babylon, transforming him from a heavenly star into a straw for the eternal fire. It wrenches a member from the Church and plunges him into the voracious flames of the fiery Gehenna.
“This vice strives to tear down the walls of the heavenly motherland and rebuild those of the ruined Sodom. Indeed, it violates temperance, kills purity, stifles chastity, and cuts the head of virginity – which is irrecoverable – with the sword of a most infamous union. It infects everything, stains everything, pollutes everything; leaving nothing pure, nothing but filth, nothing clean. ‘All things are clean to the clean,’ as the Apostle says, ‘but to them that are defiled, and to unbelievers, nothing is clean; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.
“This vice expels one from the choir of the ecclesiastical host and forces one to join the ranks of the possessed and those who work in league with the Devil. It separates the soul from God and links it with the devils. This most pestiferous Sodomite queen makes those who obey her tyrannical laws repugnant to men and hateful to God, forcing them into a nefarious war against God and obliging them to enlist in the ranks of the perverse spirit.
“It [this sin] separates him from the company of angels and deprives the soul of its nobility, imposing on the unfortunate soul the yoke of its own domination. It tears its henchmen from the arms of virtues and leaves them exposed as prey to the arrows of all the vices. It leaves one to be humiliated in the Church, condemned at court, defiled in secret, and dishonored in public. It gnaws at the person’s conscience like a worm and burns his flesh like fire …
“The miserable flesh burns with the fire of lust, the cold intelligence trembles under the rancor of misgivings, and the unfortunate man’s heart is overwhelmed by hellish chaos, subjecting him to countless pains of conscience as he is tortured in punishment.
“Yes, as soon as this most venomous serpent plunges its fangs into the unfortunate soul, it is immediately deprived of its senses and memory, the edge of the intelligence is dulled, he forgets God and even himself.”
“Indeed, this scourge destroys the foundations of the faith, weakens the forces of hope, dissolves the bonds of charity, annihilates all justice, undermines fortitude, eliminates hope, and dulls the edge of prudence.
“And what else shall I say? For it [the sin of sodomy] expels all the forces of virtue from the temple of the human heart, and, as if pulling the door from its hinges, allows the entrance of every barbarity of vice ….
“In effect, the one whom …. this most atrocious beast has swallowed down its bloody throat is prevented, by the weight of its chains, from practicing any good work, and is precipitated into the abysses of his uttermost iniquity.
“Thus, as soon as someone has fallen into this abyss of extreme perdition, he is exiled from the heavenly motherland, separated from the Body of Christ, censured by the authority of the whole Church, condemned by the judgment of all the Holy Fathers, despised by men on earth and rebuked by the society of heavenly citizens. He creates for himself an earth of iron and a sky of bronze.
“On the one hand, laden with the weight of his crime, he is unable to rise; on the other hand, he is no longer able to conceal his evil in the refuge of ignorance. He cannot be happy while he lives nor have hope when he dies, because here and now he is obliged to suffer the ignominy of men’s derision and, later, the torment of eternal condemnation.”

That horrible crime, on account of which corrupt and obscene cities were destroyed by fire through divine condemnation, causes us most bitter sorrow and shocks our mind, impelling us to repress such a crime with the greatest possible zeal.
Quite opportunely the Fifth Lateran Council [1512-1517] issued this decree:
“Let any member of the clergy caught in that vice against nature, given that the wrath of God falls over the sons of perfidy, be removed from the clerical order or forced to do penance in a monastery” (chap. 4, X, V, 31).
So that the contagion of such a grave offense may not advance with greater audacity by taking advantage of impunity, which is the greatest incitement to sin, and so as to more severely punish the clerics who are guilty of this nefarious crime and who are not frightened by the death of their souls, we determine that they should be handed over to the severity of the secular authority, which enforces civil law.
Therefore, wishing to pursue with greater rigor than we have exerted since the beginning of our pontificate, we establish that any priest or member of the clergy, either secular or regular, who commits such an execrable crime, by force of the present law be deprived of every clerical privilege, of every post, dignity and ecclesiastical benefit, and having been degraded by an ecclesiastical judge, let him be immediately delivered to the secular authority to be put to death, as mandated by law as the fitting punishment for laymen who have sunk into this abyss.

THE EMASCULATION OF PETER DAMIAN
I decided to take a look at the talks given by Pope Francis, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII on or about the saint’s feast day which falls on the 21st of February on the Nervous Order calendar. After all, if the Modernist popes of Virtual Church, which is mired in sodomy and pederasty and other unchaste acts, were sincerely seeking advice on dealing effectively with clerical homosexuality and pederasty, what better source could they go to than Peter Damian?
As I suspected, I didn’t find any reference to The Book of Gomorrah by any of the popes mentioned above.
I found one letter memorializing Peter Damian written by Benedict on February 20, 2007, to the Camaldolese Order, a Benedictine monastic order:
The 1,000th anniversary of his birth is an especially appropriate occasion to examine closely the aspects characterizing his multifacetted personality as scholar, hermit and man of the Church, but especially as a person in love with Christ. … St Peter Damian felt the presence of the universal Church in the hermitic life so strongly that he wrote in his ecclesiological treatise entitled Dominus Vobiscum that the Church is at the same time one in all and all in each one of her members. … Lastly, St Peter Damien was the soul of the “Riforma gregoriana,” which marked the passage from the first to the second millennium and whose heart and driving force was St Gregory VII. … he reminded priests of the highest ideal of their mission that they were to exercise by cultivating purity of morals and true personal poverty.
But there was no reference to The Book of Gomorrah.
In his General Audience of September 9, 2009, at Paul VI Hall, Benedict reflected upon Peter Damian as a lover of solitude and a reformer. He acknowledged Damian as one of the best Latinist of his time. He praised the saint for his love of the cross of Christ and his solitary life of a hermit. Benedict brought his Wednesday talk to an end by calling the saint “a man of prayer, meditation, contemplation,” and he mentions Damian’s attack on corruption in the Church, particularly the vice of simony. Not sodomy, but simony. Not Liber Gornorrhianus, but Liber Gratissimus, Damian’s tract on simony.
Other than Benedict’s two rather generic talks, I found no references to Peter Damian’s most prominent work in connection with the other post-Conciliar popes.
What a sad commentary on the state of the papacy.
Even Catholic churches named after the great man; make no reference to their patron’s tract on sodomy. There are online references to the liturgical calendar list for Saint Peter Damian found on numerous Catholic websites where the saint is described as “a reformer,” “a papal legate,” and a saint who fought simony and upheld clerical celibacy and clerical continence. Only a few Catholic websites mention The Book of Gomorrah.
Until the recent publication of Matthew Hoffman’s translation, if one wanted to learn about this most famous of Damian’s writing, one would have had to order the book through a library inter-loan service or have gone to other Catholic sources like Catholic Family News or secular sources like WIKI which has an excellent article on Liber Gomorrhianus.
The Liber Gomorrhianus (Book of Gomorrah) is a book published by Peter Damian in 1049 AD. It is scathing treatise on the vices of the clergy, and is dedicated to the Pope.

Attack on various sexual practices
In this, Petrus Damiani made an attack on homosexual practices, mutual masturbation, copulation between the thighs, anal copulation and solitary masturbation, as subversive disruptions against the moral order occasioned by the madness associated with an excess of lust. He was especially indignant about priests having sexual relationships with adolescent boys. He singles out superiors who, due to excessive and misplaced piety, have been lax in their duty to uphold church discipline. He opposes the ordination of those who are given to homosexuality and wants those already ordained dismissed from Holy Orders. Those who misuse the sacraments to defile boys are treated with particular contempt. Significant attention is given to the hurts of the victims.
Public controversy stirred
It caused a great stir and aroused not a little enmity against its author. Even the pope, Pope Leo IX, who had at first praised the work, was persuaded that it was exaggerated. He softened the suggestions for decisive action against offending clerics made by the author and excluded from the ranks of clergy only those who had offended repeatedly and over a long period of time. The Pope’s coldness drew from Damian a vigorous letter of protest.
History of same-sex relations
Although various forms of same-sex behaviour were discussed in contemporary handbooks of penance, such as those by Burchard of Worms and Regino of Prüm, this is the only theological tract which exclusively addresses this theme.
Against clerical concubinage
Damian was also a determined foe of simony, but his fiercest wrath was directed against the married clergy. In June, 1055, during the pontificate of Victor II, Damian attended a synod held at Florence, where simony and clerical incontinence were once more condemned.

Pope Saint Gregory the Great, commenting on homosexual desires, deliberately and knowingly entertained, says,
“So it was just that Sodomites, burning with perverse desires… should perish by fire and sulfur so that through this just punishment they would realize the evil they had committed, led by a perverse desire (emphasis added)”.
Damian uses the terms “perverse speech” or “perverse counsel” with regard to pederasts, indicating that he was acquainted with various techniques of seduction and “grooming” that the boy lover uses to ensnare his victim before sexually assaulting him.
