CARDIO KICKBOXING: BE THE HEART OF LION WITH STRENGTH OF THOUSAND MEN

THE REAL FIGHTERS NEVER GIVE UP

“Kickboxing is a way of life. Train hard, fight easy.”

There is no excuse for not finding a time for physical activity. It is not about shaping the perfect body and living upon the expectations of modern society but about shaping the strong spirit that is unbreakable. The sport is uplifting our self-confidence and boosting us with good energy, turning the bad vibes into great. The most important thing is to find the right sport discipline that will be in harmony with the needs of our body and with the passion of our soul.

I have been searching for my ideal sport since I was a kid. Being curious and ready to embrace new challenges make you try many things with hope that your spirit and body will just adjust. However, we should not just adjust but we should enjoy in everything we do. The life is too short for anything else but unforgettable moments. That is why I still firmly believe that choice of the right sport is actually the best what we can do for ourselves.

The cardio kickboxing is definitely an answer to all of my prayers. I have always hoped to find activity that is wild, passionate and energetic. The boring aerobics is not my style, typical fitness could be a pure routine but cardio kickboxing is a highlight. It simply makes you love sport, being fit and working hard and committed to the results that will follow. The cardio kickboxing make you feel alive, positive oriented and relieved from stress. According to studies in the USA, this type of workout is all round perfect because it combines the whole body approach, strength building, and self-defense stimulation. What is more exciting as doing a sport that shapes your muscles into the healthy and attractive curves, pumping you with infectious great energy and making you feel like the world is yours? The cardio kickboxing has no competition because it is a proof of balanced relationship between powerful mind and strong body. We are not talking here about unsynchronized movements into the air but about full concentration in the fight with imagined enemy (or punching bag). Every single move we make must be slowly chosen and realized. The injury could be dangerous, if there is lack of knowledge and feeling about kicks and punches. It is a mix of punches like jabs, crosses, hooks and uppercuts. The lower body is dealing with knee strikes, front kicks, roundhouse kicks, sidekicks and back kicks. The complete cardio kickboxing is a harmony of punches and kicks that build stamina and make flexible muscle infrastructure. Beside it, it literally digests up to 450 calories an hour.

One of the big advantages of cardio kickboxing is that you can realize it yourself at home. The first condition is having enough of free space, because you need it for your movements and free punches and kicks. This does not mean you need to turn your living room into kickboxing gym but you need to make a space for your workout. If you want to include the punching bag into your program, the empty living room could be a great solution. The experts for this kind of training write the following:”While kickboxing can be done by punching and kicking into the air, your workout will be much more effective if you have resistance in the form of a boxing bag or two. Big boxing bags improve your body’s endurance, strength and conditioning and should be about half of your body weight. For example, if you weigh 200 pounds, look for a boxing bag that is around 100 pounds. Smaller bags work your speed, balance, coordination and timing. For the most effective home kickboxing gym, invest in both.”

The good punching bag is the next important component of our home kickboxing studio. There are so many different offers but not all of them are useful. It depends on the amount of money we have available to invest. The Men’s Health has made a list of top 10 punching bags: 1. Everlast 70-Pound MMA Poly Canvas Heavy Bag, 2. Ringside Fitness Leather Heavy Bag, 3. RDX Punching Bag, 4. Last Punch Heavy Duty Punching Bag, 5. Everlast Hydrostrike Heavy Bag, 6. Outslayer Muay Thai Heavy Bag, 7. Everlast Power Core Freestanding Heavy Bag, 8. Century Wavemaster Freestanding Bag, 9. Body Action System and 10. Century BOB – Body Opponent Bag.

The detailed explanations and instructions how to find your matching punching bag is given on the following link: http://muaythaipros.com/a-guide-to-choosing-the-right-punching-bag/

The kickboxing gloves are necessary equipment too. You can pick up between real cardio boxing gloves ( Hayabusa T3 Boxing Gloves) and those estimated to be used in MMA fight (Sanabul Essential MMA Hybrid Sparring Gloves)

It is interesting that all people who practice cardio kickboxing have experienced the rise of self-confidence, the awakening of powerful mind and the feeling of strength. Just the fight with punching bag can show us what we are all capable to do and how strong we can be. After some time, it is almost like addiction. The outcome is like a drug that keeps us moving forward and setting up new tasks. In the world with high level of human, national and international insecurity, the ability to punch and kick is a basic self-defense must have. However, it is recommended to start easily and to hear what your body is saying to you. The good video training should be also included at the beginning of learning: https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/cardio-kickboxing-workout-400-calorie-cardio-routine

However, it is recommended to start easily and to hear what your body is saying to you. Maybe it just needs some time for adjustment but maybe is not the right sport for your own and unique vibrations. It is worth of try but if it is not that what you have expected or hoped for, it is better to keep searching for a right match for your passion. Remember, it is better to find that what is in harmony with your soul and your body than to pretend you enjoy the activity that is not meant for you. The life is so much precious and the time should not be wasted. It is the time of our life. Keep seeking your stamina and never give up building your Spartan spirit.

  1. Sarah’s informative and constructive article reminded me of my many years in The Nipponese Archipelago (i.e. kickboxing originated there). I myself began to learn Taekwondo (Korean martial art) during my adolescence, and this martial art is intrinsic to kickboxing, as well (i.e. as one of the various influences of its development).

Tatsuo Yamada ( 山 田 辰 雄 , 1905-1967) was a karateka (i.e. karate master) from Hyōgo Prefecture in The Nipponese Archipelago. He was the first competitive martial arts expert to wear gloves in professional bouts in East Asia: this would evolve into kickboxing, eventually.

Osamu Noguchi ( 野 口 修 , 1934-2016) is credited for creating the sport and the term kickboxing (i.e. キックボクシング ): he developed a hybrid martial art combining Muay Thai and karate, which he had introduced in 1958.

This was further explored during the early-1960s, when competitions between karate and Muay Thai began, which allowed for modifications of rules to take place. By the middle of the 1960s, the first true kickboxing events were being held in Osaka.

Women have participated in kickboxing since the 1960s, in Thailand. The World’s Muay Thai Angels is one of the first organisations to be a place for women to participate in, and the first tournament was won by Thai champion Chommanee Sor Taehiran (b. 1994).

In the 1970s, women of various ethnic and social backgrounds in The United States of America took up kickboxing, as they were prevented from taking part in women’s professional boxing.

Overall, kickboxing is of equal benefit to both genders (i.e. physiologically and psychologically), and is best taught from childhood onwards… Also, it helps break down social barriers and misinterpretations of girls/women (e.g. many girls in The Philippines study kickboxing from childhood).
