HOW GERMANY WILL DEAL WITH PRESSURE ON HUMAN SECURITY?

 

If you were in Münster on Saturday, 7 April 2018, you would see the most vibrating town in Germany that is awaking with the touch of spring. Unfortunately, you would also see the horror on the downtown streets, after the lone wolf attack, when a van rammed into the crowd and killed several people, leaving more than 20 of them injured. It was a peaceful day, inspired with lots of student that integrate their cultural and social expectations in each corner of this tourist pearl of North Rhine-Westphalia, known to be populated with 300,000 residents and labeled as the Germany´s most bicycle-friendly city. The enchanting architecture is merged with the historical imprints and breathtaking natural settings that have turned Münster in one of the most visited places in beautiful Germany. After bloody Saturday, Münster will never be the same since the local tranquility is disfigured with death, pain and tears, caused by sick mind and black heart.

According to early police investigations, the Münster attack is not linked to the chain of Islamic terrorism, in spite of the fact that some media concluded that, in those first hours after the attack has been reported. The doer is not a pion of Islamic terrorism machinery but the German citizen, born in Münster, known under the name Jens R. The security experts have investigated his possible connections with the Islamic terrorists or ideologists but they have not found anything worth of public announcements. At least, they have not found until now but there is always a little bit of doubt in official statements since the government has been known to justify the forced Islamic immigration in Germany and to approve the policy of opened doors for all, in spite of acknowledged security threats. The experts for terrorism have warned German authorities that something bad will happen because of the unlimited number of immigrants without any background check but the Münster attack is a lonely incident, caused by 48-year-old German with history of mental illness and relations with local criminal gangs. This sounds like American story that has taken place in Germany. What is actually behind the Münster tragedy? The reality of broken international, national and individual security. We do not live anymore in the world we used to know from some happy books and relaxing movies. This new world is a rebirth of insecurity, tensions and deep social diversions colored with personal lunacy and feeling of helplessness.

Why Jens R decided to come to the core of the Münster town, to drive into the people and to hurt them? First, he wanted to kill himself but he had a desire to be known, to be remembered. As a silent committer of suicide, he would never reach the popularity. Jens R needed something else, something more spectacular that will launch him into the universe of sick fame.

It is reported that he might be connected with the supporters of the German right wings through the online channels but that doesn’t explain his violent behavior and actions. It is typical for every government to make negative image of its political opponents and we all know that the rise of right extremism in Germany is not seen positive in the rest of the world. If Germans love their country, that is not wrong and should not be demonized by the experiences from past. Back in those years, there were no thousands of immigrants from the Middle East that want to build mosques and to call Allah´s name among the ancient cathedrals. Now, Germany is simply divided between patriots who love their country and those who are afraid to be considered as Nazis. The both streams are trying to shape the profile of Germany and its future but the both fail to see reality as it is. There are many Muslims that live in Germany and not all of them are Islamists but those that are Islamists belong to Muslims and they are making plots to hurt the German body and soul. I believe that in this case left and right oriented political group have to work together to be able to prevent the cracks in system and to stop the possibility for lone wolves to adopt the ideology that find useful for their own selfish reasons.

Did Jens R follow some Agenda? The time and the detailed investigation will solve the puzzle but what I can conclude is that Münster attack was an individual act of terror, the expression of pure despair packed in the image of terrorism. We are all aware what lone wolves are capable to do and how they use their personal crisis for causing the national or international dramas, leaving the world in fear and questions. They may supporting some ideology but very often they digest the chosen ideology into their own struggles and put the blame on the system that they see as the enemy. In that case, any ideology could be manipulated so the show can go on. This applies on every individual committer that hides himself behind the left, right or Islamic terrorism. The person of this profile is not ready to absorb the complete sacrifice and to join the ideology with 100% of devotion because that usually means that me and my need must be replaced by us and our needs, the goals of the group. This is exactly the crucial moment to make a distinction between the mobilized ideological warrior and solo fighter that misuses the pattern of ideology to create more chaos and more shock.

This is not anymore about Jens, Anders Breivik or Omar Mateen, it is about what we are doing about the wolves that attack the pack since they are infected by rabies in their souls. Germany has two options: 1) to jump into the triangle of security challenges and to enhance the safety with the police state mechanism, 2) to reunite the political tastes into the one and compacted concern for the national security that will overcome the ideological differences and deliver the feeling of human security again. This is not an easy option and takes a lot of political courage from all sides in the area of race for power. Regarding the first one, it could be achievable since the police and intelligence service in Germany have all resources for good investigation and analytical framework for prevention and preemption.

I am afraid that the dark heroes of lone wolf terrorism are coming on the road because of the growing global pressure that modify the reality of every single soul. If that soul is fragile or disordered, it could be easily manipulated or simply driven by negative forces and motor of indifference for human suffering. That is very known style of thinking:” If I cannot be happy, No one will. If I die, I will make others die too. “

Jens R has been included in small local, crime which does not always fits in the portray of isolated psychopath. What has happened in the meantime? Probably we are witnessing the occurring of new phenomena, the lone wolves that are merging the crime, terrorism and personal sickness into the one killing story. This is just the tip of the iceberg, the numerous incidents are waiting to happen because the international system is not interested to reply on the security risks due to the political correctness or simply ignorance. The problem is not only German or American; it belongs to the completely civilized world trapped into the time between times. The virus of human despair and lunacy is the worst epidemics ever and we ignore the patient zero.
