GLOBAL POLITICAL CHECKMATE AND ALL ALICES LOST IN WONDERLAND
“In times of universal deceit, telling the truth will be a revolutionary act.”
-George Orwell
He made it. Yes, the controversial American businessman and showman, Donald Trump is finally inaugurated as the 45th president of the United States. Whoever believed it will not really happen, tried to protest and it seems that America has not still digested the fact that business and politics fits perfect together. The question is only, what comes first but at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter as long as there is no los.
The new President of America is not only problem for some Americans who do not agree with his ideas and hardcore solutions but also for the rest of the world, stuck in its own failures to achieve some strategy out of chaos. This is a big moment for international relations because of all those diplomats who denied Trump’s chances in presidential campaign. They must change the course and accept him or get in conflict with him. There is no a third way, there is no a way to safe land of Eldorado, especially not now when Mr. President will build a wall between US and Mexico and will stop the Muslim immigration from the targeted list of countries. Even those who think that political speech is one thing and political practice is something else are finding themselves surprised with the fast reactions of American President. He doesn’t want to waste a time because he values the time according to profit.
American opposition doesn’t understand how that big profit will be calculated in the new goverment, closed for diplomatic tactics and opened for mad dogs and war options. They do not want Mr. Trump and they scream on social media he is not their president. They insult him and his family. Without any fear that NSA will check the cyber algorithms and possible detect them and deal with them. Who cares, they think. All is anyway lost, they strongly believe. Who are they?Real American patriots? Afraid marginalized groups?Scared intellectual elite? Commons sense or absence of it? Whoever they are, they keep the line of divisions, turning the States into the cocktail of anger, hatred, fear, disappointment, fire and revenge. On the other side, there are people who stand behind Trump and they salute to his decisions, they accept him and want him as their president. They were given the chance to feel the taste of patriotism, the promises they will be safe and protected but not to much because they do not want government as a nanny. America should be a land of opportunities not land of unlimited possibilities for welfare. Founding fathers didn’t count on it but they didn’t count on walls too.
Long time ago, Mr. Lincoln warned that America can be destroyed only from inside, by divisions and not by outside’s enemy. Unfortunately, this what is happening now in the States could be easily associated with inside chaos. One Trump against the Anti-Trump world. Trump’s supporters and Trump’s opposers. It is all about Trump but nothing about America. Americans got the President but they lost themselves. They are against each other instead of embracing one another and trying to build system of free and equal chances, they are going to build walls. In the age of high national and international security, building the wall sounds like a rational idea. But, wall is also the ultimate confession that politics has no better options and that all what Henry Kissinger has thought in his Diplomacy is simply lost and empty theory nowadays.
Then, there are Russians. Trump is accused that he got Russian help to get into the White House. Yes, this is not the cover story from some developing third world country with daily struggles to learn democratic lessons, this is the story from America and about American elections. This sounds like a big joke of all what this country can come up with. Try to imagine that situation. American President is a Russian’s man. This shows up the shadow of never ending global fear from the Russian growing influence and prevail of communism. Which kind of communism? Russia looks like more capitalistic country than America now, fighting against Trump and holding on blossom of socialist seed from the former President Obama. When people will learn that monocentric system of powers should be replaced with polycentric one because one street can not be properly protected only by one policeman but rather by a group of them. America and Russia must work together on fixing the broken international safety and solving the ME crisis. There is no other way and that will not mean that America get communist colors and Russia dominate but that the global forces accept the responsibility for their failed chess on the Middle East.
What about the EU? The EU is behaving like a student who lost the mentor. The UK is searching for its own paths to vanished security and Germany is having an issue with own political and partial mess so has no clue how to stop already forced Muslim immigration and the growing anger of own population who will stand up and say:TUT MIR LEID, ES IS GENUG JETZT.(I am sorry, but now it’s really enough-translation from German) The other European countries share hidden pleasure about Trump’s America because they hope his wave will encourage the domestic European leaders to ask for national security rather than to trade it for union instability.
Other global players like China, India, Japan and rich Arab countries are measuring the pulse from Washington. They do have economical interests like EU and Russia but they do also have geostrategic interests and have concern that unpredictable American President with beautiful wife from Slovenia, will endanger their routine of silent conquest of the world. For sure, Trump knows what does it mean pay and lose money and pay and get it double or triple back. Maybe he has no political polishing, but he is advanced in financial battles. America is like a big company and it must be saved from political bankruptcy. If he does not manage, he is done and maybe even before, since he has so many of those who call him not being politically correct while they start the fire of public ideas for his impeachment.
Donald Trump is not the perfect choice for America, that is definitely. He is not diplomat and he is brutally sharp in expressing the opinions but he gave to the people what they wanted. He served them what they desired and he made it. In the land hit by insecurity and risks from terrorism, he is promising the strong answer on new challenges. In the society hit by class and social divisions, he is promising the opportunity for everyone, even for those who are forgotten. That can be super arranged political trick and treat but can be something totally new for old America He can be the worst president ever but he can also be the best one. No one knows that. It is only about predictions and as we know they are based on structural and professional and international interests in fitting well in reshaped world.
Personally, I believe that each story has two sides, like a moon. None is ideal because the perfection is not allowed but the question for all of us is the way we will deal with someone’s imperfection and how that will hit us and make us fit or being outside players. The same is on local, national and international level.Like in micro and macro universe of our own lives. The basic rule is to remain respectful to each other and to not get into trap of politic brutality because administrations are changeable but people’s negative feelings will stay forever.Maybe we are all played like in a chess game, but that doesn’t mean we do not know to positionate ourselves so good to not get into the war, not only the real one but also the one with words. Because, words can be the cruelest weapons ever.
Wow! Sarah, you have amazed me as to how you have been able, herein, through your very well-written article, to convey your message of HOPE and UNITY !
To me, personally, this is the epitome of good writing and a good writer! The fact that you’ve succeeded in setting our divide aside, and in guiding our vision towards the objective which is America’s success!
The article is not skewed, which is difficult to do, despite one’s political affiliation or predilection!
The proof of your objectivity is seen in some of your statements, such as
“Donald Trump is not the perfect choice for America, that is definitely. He is not diplomat and he is brutally sharp in expressing the opinions but he gave to the people what they wanted.”
Further, you state:
“He can be the worst president ever but he can also be the best one. No one knows that.”
In addition, you state the following:
“Personally, I believe that each story has two sides, like a moon. None is ideal because the perfection is not allowed but the question for all of us is the way we will deal with someone’s imperfection.”
The above three statements I have selected as illustrative examples reveal your sense of objectivity in realizing that no one is perfect.
In your closing argument, you state the following:
“The basic rule is to remain respectful to each other and to not get into trap of politic brutality because administrations are changeable but people’s negative feelings will stay forever.Maybe we are all played like in a chess game, but that doesn’t mean we do not know to positionate ourselves so good to not get into the war, not only the real one but also the one with words. Because, words can be the cruelest weapons ever.”
The germane discussion is one about giving the president a chance. I say l, let’s give him a chance, irrespective of our political views or penchants, for his success is our success!
In closing, I would like to say that this is the time for us to unite as a nation and to rise to the occasion!
Thank you, Sarah, for this wonderful message of HOPE! HOPE is such a beautiful word, for we cannot live without HOPE!
